The museum has the largest collection of Impressionist works in the world and you can see masterpieces of painting and sculpture such as “Le déjeuner sur l'herbe” and “L'Olympia” (Lunch on the Grass and Olympia) by Edouard Manet, a project of “La Petite danseuse de quatorze ans” (The little dancer of fourteen years) by Degas, “L'Origine du monde” (The Origin of the World), “Um enterrement à Ornans” (The Burial in Ornans), the Courbet's artist's studio and five tables “Series de la cathédrale de Rouen” (Series of Rouen cathedral) by Claude Monet and “Le bal du moulin de la Galette” (The ball at the Moulin de la Galette) by Renoir.

At the end of 2009, the Musée d'Orsay undertook the museographic renovation of its impressionist and post-impressionist rooms, located on the upper floor, in addition to the four floors of the "Amont Pavilion", which allow access.
