Departure from Porto.

After leaving Porto, the Private Tour starts in the city of Aveiro . Aveiro's tradition is intrinsically linked to the sea, not only because of its proximity, but also due to the Ria de Aveiro , which winds through the city's canals.

AVEIRO;

Known as the “Portuguese Venice”, it is a charming city crossed by canals. Its colorful moliceiros , pastel-colored Art Nouveau -style buildings and tranquil urban atmosphere make it one of the most captivating destinations in the country.

During your visit, you can explore Mercado do Peixe , a traditional market that houses some of the best seafood restaurants in Aveiro. Also, don't miss the moliceiro boats , traditional boats from the Ria de Aveiro , similar to Venetian gondolas. These boats were originally used to collect and transport moliço , an abundant seaweed in the region used as fertilizer.

A regional boat trip along the Ria de Aveiro , lasting 1 hour, is an unmissable experience. However, please note that the price of the boat trip is not included in the tour price and there is an extra cost of €15.

Furthermore, during the tour in Aveiro, you will have the opportunity to visit the city's typical houses and learn about salt production . Salt extraction has always played an important role in the economy of the Aveiro region, and the Troncalhada Eco-Museu offers detailed information about the salt production process.

COIMBRA;

Center of knowledge par excellence, the  Coimbra University  Founded in 1290, it is one of the oldest in Europe and was classified as a World Heritage Site, along with the city's Alta and Rua da Sofia.

  • Founded in 1290 by D. Dinis, with the name "Estudos Gerais", it moved between Lisbon and Coimbra over several reigns until it was definitively established in this city in 1537, on the initiative of D. João III.
    Since then, it has occupied the same building, the former medieval Royal Palace, acquired by the institution in 1597 from Philip II of Spain, who then governed the country.
